Three Months

So I'm a couple of weeks late posting this, but the picture was taken on time and tidbits are only up to the 3 month mark. We don't have pediatrician appointments every month anymore, so no stats. She has one next month, and I know she has grown a lot!
  • We got to hear Natalie's first laughs this month!
  • When Jake or I leave her side, she watches for us and turns her head toward the direction we left waiting for us to come back.
  • She smiles when I come to get her out of bed.
  • She slept through the night 2-3 times.
  • This month her favorite song is happy birthday, and her favorite rhyme is Little Miss Muffet.
  • She likes to listen to videos of herself. Whenever I watch a video I've taken of her, she smiles when she hears her recorded voice.
  • Whenever I pull out the camera, she stops doing whatever cute thing she was doing and stares at the camera intensely, like "what is that?" She won't look at me or respond to anything I do until I put it away. I've tried tricking her by using my cell phone camera, and she is not fooled; she just stares at that too.
  • I wore Natalie in a carrier at the grocery store for the first time, and she slept the whole time. I only needed help once when I dropped a box from the top shelf to the floor. Oops.
  • She went to church for the first time and was so good! She ate just before we left, and she was happy when we got there and then slept through the rest of church.
  • She caught her first cold just after we took her to church for the first time. It was mild - stuffy nose, watery eyes, sneezes, and coughs. She was still pretty good and happy, just a little fussy one evening.
  • Her neck is getting strong. If we watch her closely, she can sit in her Bumbo seat for 5-10 minutes before she gets tired and wobbly.
  • And this girl loves to stand! It's very tiring for mom and dad because she obviously isn't very good at it yet. She sure can keep those legs stiff, but she sticks her little bum out, which is adorable but bad for balance.
  • She is wearing 3-6 month and 6 month clothes generally. A few 3 month things still fit but not many.
  • She loves sticking her tongue out and licking things!
  • She is discovering her fingers. It's adorable how fascinated she is by watching her hands touch things.
  • Speaking of using her hands, she is starting to learn to whack and grab toys. She's not very good at it yet, but she's getting better everyday.
  • She usually pulls her hands up to her mouth when she's hungry, making it impossible to get her bottle in there. But now if I show her the bottle (and she stops yelling long enough to actually notice), she will open her hands, grab the nipple, and ravenously pull it into her mouth. It's kind of funny to watch!
Here is a video we got of her early laughs (at the end of the video). Somehow I always miss the beginning of this song. Oh, well.

She hates tummy time. She's okay for about thirty seconds, then she starts calling out, and it escalates from there to angry yelling. In this video it really sounds like she's calling, "Hey!"

Google makes animated GIFs for you - so cool! Here is Natalie, chewing and sucking on things.

And we'll finish with a few photos we took of Natalie during the month of March.

I'm sad this one is blurry because it is so cute!

Oh, man! She'll be four months in no time! And I can't believe all the fun things she's been up to this month already. She is amazing!
