It has been a really fun month with Natalie...and her alter ego, Cool Girl, pictured above. Haha! She thinks it's funny to wear sun glasses. She won't keep them on long enough for them to do any good, though. Typical.
STATS
Height: 35" (100%)
Weight: 25 lbs. 12 oz. (93%)
Head: 18.11" (57%)
Natalie's pediatrician said she has never seen any measurement in the 100th percentile, so we had to chuckle about her height. What does that even mean? She is tallest fifteen-month-old girl in the nation! Haha!
She also lost two pounds since her one-year appointment, so we have to go back halfway between appointments for a 6-week weigh-in. The doctor isn't super concerned about it and thinks it's mostly due to her activity and decreased protein from weaning. So we aren't dropping any more bottles for now, and if she hasn't lost any more weight by the weigh-in, we'll just continue to not worry about it.
New words: music (ck), car, off, on, up (sounds a lot like off), oh no, bath, bat, ow, Elmo, me, star? (gar), top (oppa)
Animal noises: sheep, pig
New signs: orange, blue, pig, red, green
She learned a lot of body parts this month: hair, head, eyes, nose, ears, mouth, tongue, teeth, shoulders, arms, hands, fingers, belly, legs, lap, feet, and toes.
Natalie and I flew out to Idaho to surprise my mom while Jake was at a conference this month. We had a great time! Natalie was absolutely horrible on the flight from Detroit to Salt Lake, but other than that she was really good. She yelled and pushed me for about half of that flight, and I stood up holding her for the other half. The guy sitting next to us had a laptop and TWO cell phones on his tray table, like it's possible to keep Natalie from grabbing that stuff. In our house, we call those items baby bait. We had a long layover in Salt Lake, though, so Jake's parents took us to lunch, which was a much needed and literal breath of fresh air after that terrible flight. It was so nice to see them, even though it was just a couple of hours.
Natalie had fun playing with my family. She was extra interested in Lance whenever he fell asleep. She would wave at him incessantly and look at me like, "Why isn't he waving back?!" Then she would try to take pens out of his pocket, and eventually she would start touching his hand, which only got more exciting for her if I asked her not to. Haha!
My brothers had colds, which were still lingering when we arrived, so I got sick, of course. I'd say my worst day was the day Natalie and I flew back to Michigan. I had to get up at 4:30am for our 6:30 flight, and every time the plane changed altitude at all, I had to pop my ears by plugging my nose and blowing, so I was pretty miserable (and embarrassed about the constant nose plugging). Luckily, she was really good on our flights. She mostly just squirmed around trying to get comfortable to sleep, and then she slept for a few minutes. Despite getting sick, we had a good time.
When we got back, Natalie decided she likes to read Each Peach Pear Plum before her nap. Every. Day. There was only one day in the three weeks following our trip when she let me read something else. Oh, well at least it's a good book, and it's easy to get some variety by asking her to spot different items in the pictures.
She loves Wall-E more and more. She actually sits and watches it now too. She asks to watch it during both snack times and right after lunch every day, plus more. She doesn't get to watch it that often, but I'd say we watch at least part of it almost every day. By the way, it's super cute when she tries to do the sign for robot.
Now for the pictures from March!
Stacking cup of pretend milk, anyone?
This girl loves playing with empty milk jugs, and there is no shortage of them around here!
Sitting with her arm around her monkey pal!
We call her our little printer technician. She has figured out how to open it all up!
Our layover in Salt Lake with Grandma and Grandpa.
Natalie is holding a little bobble head man that Lance let her play with. She carried it around all week!
Playing with Grandma!
We went to the park a few times while we were in Idaho. Natalie wasn't sure what to think about walking on wood chips.
She loves hats and playing in the laundry that needs to be folded, so she got a kick out of these pj pants on her head.
Natalie's first solo tower on the pole! She can put the rings on all by herself now, and she built this one on her own.
Sometimes they give her a free balloon at the grocery store. She doesn't quite understand that you can't just set it on the floor, so she spent a lot of the afternoon like this.
I've already started on a 16 month post, so hopefully that will go up soon. I can't believe how fast she's growing up!
