Christmastime Fun!

Before Christmas break could really start, Jake and I needed to finish the various craft projects we had embarked on as Christmas gifts. We had to really work hard since we are procrastinators -- okay, I'm the procrastinator; Jake had finals, aka a good excuse. In the end, we got them done.

I made this purse for Jake's sister, Allie. Jake chose the buttons.

Jake helped me to make this wreath for his brother and sister-in-law, Josh and Amy.

Jake and I were lucky to be able to see both of our families and all of our siblings this year. We were at Jake's parents in Draper at Christmas time, and afterward we went to Idaho to visit my family. Unfortunately, there were snow storms every day that we had to travel, the worst of which caused the drive from Draper to Provo (usually a thirty minute drive) to take FOUR HOURS! We were at a stand still less than a mile from our exit for about three of those hours. Of course, that electronic word game that Jake gave me for Christmas sure came in handy. And I'm sure that Jake is so glad that my grandma taught me to play twenty questions in the car when I was bored - I think we played enough rounds to last him for a few years.

I'm making our break sound horrible, but aside from the driving, we really did have a great time. A few of our gifts included a giant cutting mat for my sewing, some ramekins for Jake to make creme brulee in, a stove top dutch oven, books on robot-making for Jake, and a sewing book for me. Thanks for all the awesome gifts, everyone! We didn't get any pictures at our families' houses, but here are a few from our own little Christmas:

 Our cute, little tree.
We decided to make paper ornaments to put on the tree this year in addition to the ornaments we have been collecting as souvenirs from our travels.

This is just my favorite picture from Christmas. You can just hear his excited, "Yeah!"
